Fostering Panel Members | Looked After Children and Young People | Birmingham
Swiis Foster Care are interested to hear from professionals who have some experience of working with children and/or knowledge of the care system who would like to sit on our monthly Fostering Panel to assess prospective carers and carry out reviews in Edgbaston, Birmingham. This is a sessional role, with competitive fees paid per session.
A successful candidate should be available to do daytime or evening sessions, or both. Assessing prospective applicants’ suitability to foster is a complex process and their personal details are scrutinised in great detail in order that the lives of the children and young people placed by the Swiis Foster Care are safeguarded.
There is no requirement for a Panel member to hold a social work qualification. However, if your application is successful, you will be required to undergo an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check and references.
Panel members are self-employed and will be required to attend our Fostering Panels held during the daytime and evening, at our office in Edgbaston. There are also planned additional business meetings and training events throughout the year which you would be expected to attend. You will be paid a set fee for each meeting, which includes scrutiny of all documentation prior to panel, attendance at Panel and agreeing minutes post Panel.
At Swiis, we believe that good and great are two entirely different things. So we aim for the latter in everything we do. That’s why Swiis Foster Care is a national leading Independent Fostering Agency, regularly rated Ofsted Outstanding for the high quality service provided to our foster carers and children and young people in our care.
Swiis Foster Care is a continuously expanding company and offers significant development opportunity for the right candidate.
