Placement Support Worker | Foster Care | Yorkshire, Sheffield

Swiis Foster Care is seeking an experienced Placement Support Worker to join our growing Yorkshire area fostering team.

We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic and flexible person who has some previous experience of working directly with children and young people. This is a developmental role within a growing service, so experience in the youth and social care sector is desirable.

The Placement Support Worker will support our excellent foster carers in caring for children and young people looked after with a wide range of emotional and behavioural difficulties, as well as engaging in direct work with children and young people. This support needs to be flexible, creative and responsive to each child’s individual needs. The role also includes ensuring the participation and engagement of carers and young people in the development of our service through coordinating regular support groups and activities.

The Placement Support Worker will work within a multi-disciplinary team but will need to have the confidence and ability to work alongside Foster Carers and children and young people within the community. Applicants should have some awareness of child care legislation and be willing to learn.

This post is based between the in the Sheffield, however extensive travel will be required across Yorkshire therefore the post-holder must have a clean driving licence and the use of a car.

Essential requirements:

  • Some previous experience of working directly with children and/or foster carers
