Education Advisor| Foster Care | Yorkshire, Sheffield

Swiis Foster Care Yorkshire is recruiting an Education Advisor on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role with an annual salary of up to £31,000.

We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic, flexible person who has experience of working directly with children and young people in a school setting. A teaching qualification would be desirable but not essential. An Education Advisor offers professional advice, training and support to education providers and fostering families. Their role is to promote achievement and attainment, continuity of learning and stability in educational placement for children in permanent foster placements. An Education Advisor will work within our multi-disciplinary team but will need to have the confidence and ability to work in partnership with other professionals, foster carers and children.

Induction, regular supervision and a wide range of training is provided. Applicants should have a working knowledge of the education system and an understanding of the supports required to provide an inclusive and positive school experience for children and young people looked after.

This post is based in the Swiis Sheffield office, but travel will be required across Yorkshire. The post-holder must have a driving licence and the use of a car.

Education Advisor Essential requirements:

  • Some previous experience of working directly with children and/or foster carers within an education setting
  • Working knowledge of the education system
  • Some knowledge/understanding of child protection procedures
  • Ability to manage work load and work on own initiative
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to monitor achievements and stats
  • Car driver
